### Short trick of square of three-digit number

To know the short trick of the square of the 3-digit number is very essential for those students who are preparing for competition exams like SSC CGL and Bank PO RRB etc. because while doing exams it becomes very difficult to calculate it and implement it in questions. At that time you must know the short trick of the square of a three-digit number. For finding the square of the three-digit number you must learn the square of the number up to 40, then you will be able to solve it quickly. The Short trick of the square of a three-digit number is so easy. you can find the square of three-digit number within seconds if you understood this concept. lets understand.

Basically this is the base trick method

The base is always 100. 100 is nearest to the number.

### Example 1. 106*106

Step 1: Add the number in 106 by the difference of it by 100 i.e (106+6)
Step 2: write square of 6 in its right side after /.
= (106+6)/6^2
=112/36
= 11236 { Remove / & get the answer}

### Example 2. 116*116

=(116+16)/16^2
=132/256 { you can note only last two digit from square of 16 and third digit will be added as a carry before oblic i.e. in 132. So
=132+2/56
=13456 { Remove /}

Now if the number is nearest to 200. It may be bigger or smaller in both than 200.
At that time we take base 200 but at that time we do double the number what comes after adding or subtracting with 200 because the actual base is our 100 and 200 is two times of a hundred.

### Example 1. 186*186

Step 1: 186 is smaller than 200 by 14.
So subtract it with 14 & double it what ever come like 2*(186-14)= 344
Step 2 :: Write the square of 14 i.e 196 in its right side after / as written below
=344/196
=344+1/96 { we can note only last two digit from square of 14 & third digit will be added as a carry in 344.}
=34596 { Remove / & get answer}
Now understand it from one more example.

### Example 2. 213*213

=2(213+13)/13^2
=452/169
=452+1/69
=45369
